Many organisations have supported us in the last three years, and without that support we would not have been able to complete the projects we wanted to. Special thanks to The RW Mann Trust, The Barbour Foundation, The Ridley Family Charity, The Rotary Club, The Community Foundation, Truemark Trust, The Joicey Trust, Sir James Knott Trust, Newcastle Building Society and Bernard Sunley.
ASDA at Ashington have been very kind, and particularly supportive of our Coffee Mornings and Members Christmas events.
Plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, pies, biscuits, cakes, sausage rolls, quiches, crisps, pickles and other buffet items have ensured members and visitors are well-looked after.
They also donated financially towards our kitchen refurbishment.
The Co-op have also helped us on more than one occasion. They supported our funding for our kitchen extension and have helped with our Coffee Mornings.
In fact it was the Co-op customers themselves who got behind our kitchen extension project and donated their share of the profits to the refurbishment.
Lately they've donated coffee cups and supplies to help us with our social events.
Lindsay Freeman and Linda Dick did a fantastic amount of fundraising for Diabetes and for our own charity earlier in the year. We very much-appreciated the gesture and the money went towards funding our Community Garden.
We have an excellent relationship with Barchester - we received a fantastic donation from them which helped us furnish our extended kitchen. Every Friday we welcome some of their residents from Meadow Park and Woodhorn Park.
Ian Lavery has also given us his backing when it comes to applying for funding. Here he is paying us a visit last year.
Let's just say he is better at Public Speaking than he is at billiards. But he does look the part.
We've had great support many times from Councillors Ken Parry and Tom Wilson. They provided us with a large amount of the funding we needed for our kitchen extension and Community Garden scheme, and for power tools
Northumberland Community Chest have also given us financial support on more than one occasion, helping fund our table refurbishments, our redecoration projects, the replacement of our carpets, our kitchen extension and our outside toilet/utility room.
We have a fantastic group of members who regularly use our facilities and support our events, and without their commitment, we wouldn't generate enough income to survive.
Carry on coming!
Earth Balance at Bomarsund have kindly allowed us to use their workshops and equipment every Tuesday and Thursday mornings
Akzo Nobel donated dozens of tins of Cuprinol so we could decorate our flowers, and raise more money for local charities. And they donated enough paint for us to paint our institute fence.
Our friends at Brightside have been so busy helping to add colour to our garden, by painting our seats, our shed and our flowers..
